Ingredients

For the Beef

  • 3 pounds Chuck Roast or brisket or pork shoulder
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce adjust based on preference

For the Sandwiches

  • 4 buns Brioche hamburger buns soft and pillowy
  • 1 cup Coleslaw optional

Cooking Steps

  • Season the chuck roast generously with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the roast for about 3-4 minutes per side until beautifully browned.
  • Transfer the seared roast into a slow cooker. Add sliced onions and minced garlic, then pour in your favorite barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours until fork-tender.
  • Allow the beef to rest for 10 minutes, then use two forks to shred it apart. Taste the sauce and mix in additional barbecue sauce if desired.
  • Optionally toast the hamburger buns under the oven broiler until lightly browned.
  • Assemble sandwiches by piling the shredded beef high on the buns, adding coleslaw if desired.
