Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 pieces Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Extra virgin recommended

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup Apple Cider Use fresh cider for best flavor
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Light or dark works perfectly
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh Thyme Substitute with rosemary if desired

Instructions

Preparation

  • Finely chop the garlic. Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Reduce heat slightly and stir in the minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes. Pour in the apple cider and scrape browned bits from the skillet.
  • Add brown sugar, salt, pepper, and fresh thyme. Stir until well combined.
  • Cover the skillet and let it simmer on low for 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, let the chicken rest a few minutes, then spoon extra sauce over the chicken before serving.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with additional thyme leaves for a fresh touch. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
