Equipment

  • Skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet

Ingredients

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (crumbled)
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Dill
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

For the Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 medium Cucumber (grated)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Dill (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Instructions

Meatball Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Finely chop the onion and garlic to enhance their flavors when you sauté them.
  • Heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the onions until they’re translucent, about 3-4 minutes, then add in the garlic for an additional minute, stirring occasionally.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, sautéed onions and garlic, chopped parsley, panko breadcrumbs, egg, crumbled feta, lemon zest, oregano, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined—avoid overworking the mixture!
  • With slightly wet hands (to prevent sticking), shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they're spaced apart for even cooking.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Serve these tender meatballs warm, drizzled with homemade tzatziki sauce, or nestled in a pita with fresh veggies. Enjoy!

Notes

Chilling the meatball mixture for 30 minutes before baking helps them hold their shape. For extra juiciness, consider mixing dark and light turkey.
