Instructions

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and generously grease a springform pan with butter or nonstick spray to ensure easy release.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and water. Stir until smooth, then pour half of this mixture into the prepared springform pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • After baking, allow the cake layer to cool completely in the pan to prevent the cheesecake layer from melting.
  • In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar, mixing until light and fluffy. Then, mix in sour cream and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  • Carefully incorporate eggs into the cheesecake mixture, adding them one at a time, avoiding overmixing.
  • Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled red velvet cake layer in the springform pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the edges are firm, but the center remains slightly jiggly.
  • Allow the cheesecake to chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor development.
